The programme of the MedIT Workshop

The MedIT Workshop is organized in three paralel sections: Telemedicine, Distance medical education and Ethics of medical infromation employment. Each of these sections will include lectures and presentaions of Romanian and foreign projects, practical sessions and debates on how these solutions could be implemented in the Romanian medical educaltional system.

The MedIT Workshop wellcomes Romanian medical students and healthcare professionals exclusively. For further information on this issue please read the full description of the project.

Distance Medical Education

Project presentations aim to infrom the participants on the modern software applications used in distance learning. The practical sessions will train the participants on how to effectively search the internet for medical information, who will be requested to contribute on a specific topic. The debates will try to identify the main problems faced by the Romanian distance medical education and will find the appropiate solutions.

Telemedicine

The lectures and project presentations included in this section will emphasise on the advantages presented by the use of ICT solutions in medicine. The practical sessions will bring forward the distance assisted diagnosis and treatment methods. The participants will analyse the level of employment of these solutions in the Romanian healthcare system and will discuss the main problem encountered in this field.

This section will host lectures on the main trends in the ethics of medical publishing and on the ICT solutions for the problems related to the ethics medical practice (medical errors, pacient safety). The debates will focus on the development of Romanian medical publishing on the internet and on the use of ICT solutions in the Romanian hospitals.
