MedIT - Workshop on information and communication technologies advances in medical education
Romania needs to undergo several changes before it gains EU membership. Medical education is one of the fields which requires
implementation of modern solutions in order to fulfill the European standards of quality.
In this respect, the MedIT Workshop intends to bring together local and European health care professionals and
information and communication technology (ICT) specialists in order to share their experience and to contribute to the development of
ICT applications in the medical field in Romania. The Ehics sessions will benefit from the experience of both lawyers and
medical doctors specialized in this field.
Romania has little experience in this field, and currently running programmes are only isolated initiatives, thus
the MedIT Workshop will be a coherent action and also an opportunity for European professionals and
Romanian ICT consumers to communicate face to face.
The MedIT Workshop meets the Romanian medical community's needs for specific information in the field of ICT
applications in medicine by means of theoretical and practical sessions actively supervised by local and European lecturers.
The debates will cover a large area and will be organized in three parallel sessions: medical distance education, telemedicine
and ethics of medical information management. The workshop will take place between 28-31 October 2004 in Cluj-Napoca.
